AI automation with low-code tools course

Automate complete processes by combining AI and visual tools, without coding.

Low-code tools let you automate complete processes without coding, and with AI as just another step in the workflow they can do things that used to require custom development: read an email, understand what it asks for, extract the data and update the system.

In this course we build real automations step by step: from a simple workflow to one that processes documents, decides with AI and asks for human approval when it is not sure. We compare the main tools (n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate) so you can choose the one that fits your company.

You leave with an automation running on one of your own processes. See an example in the email automation use case.

What you will learn

  • Design end-to-end automations based on a real process
  • Build workflows in a low-code tool with AI steps
  • Extract data from emails and documents and push it to other systems
  • Include human approvals and error handling
  • Maintain and document automations

Syllabus

8 modules, from the fundamentals to the final project.

  1. Thinking in workflows

    • Triggers, steps, conditions and data
    • Choosing a good process to start with
    • Comparing n8n, Make, Zapier and Power Automate
  2. First workflows

    • Connecting email, spreadsheets and messaging
    • Variables, filters and loops
  3. AI as a workflow step

    • Classifying, summarising and drafting inside an automation
    • Structured outputs (JSON) for later steps
    • Cost per run and choosing the model
  4. Documents

    • Extracting data from PDFs and images
    • Validations and uncertain cases
  5. Integrating with systems

    • CRM, ERP and management tools via APIs and webhooks
    • Authentication and secure credentials
  6. Human in the loop

    • Approvals by email, Teams or Slack
    • Error handling and retries
  7. Agents in low-code

    • Agent nodes with tools
    • When to use an agent and when a fixed workflow
  8. Go live and maintain

    • Testing, logs and alerts
    • Documentation and owners
    • Self-hosting versus cloud service

Tools you will practise with

  • n8n
  • Make
  • Power Automate
  • Zapier
  • Language model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Azure)

Hands-on project

You build a complete automation on a process from your company, for example a request inbox that is classified with AI, extracts the data, creates the task in the system and asks for approval when in doubt.

Requirements

  • Comfortable with digital tools. No coding needed.
